The BC Rural Health Conference (formally RECC) is hosted by RCCbc and supported by the JSC. This event offers accredited learning (sessional and hands-on workshops) about topics involving rural medicine, emergency medicine, wilderness medicine, and physician resiliency. Designed by rural physicians, this event is facilitated and taught by BC physicians and provides practitioners with the opportunity to share knowledge, update and/or learn new skills, and to discuss cases within a larger group to facilitate learning and support.

Medical Disorders in Pregnancy is designed for practitioners that deal with the management of disorders in pregnant patients. This accredited event will provide a focused, expert review of common medical conditions in pregnancy and will provide practical strategies for their management.

    WEDOClogo

WEDOC is a not for profit annual gathering of emergency administrative, clinical leaders, and front line providers - dedicated to improving the efficiency and effectiveness of delivery of emergency care in Canada, particularly western Canada.  By its nature, Emergency Medicine reinforces characteristics of pragmatism, innovation, creative problem solving, and collaboration. Our community recognizes the challenges of rising health care costs and growing, demographically-driven demands, and seeks to address them. The 2017 theme is “The Precarious Path to the No Wait ED”. Basically the push and pull of the desire from the public and health officials to “drive down wait times” while doing so under financial constraints ....while also providing quality patient care. We are looking forward specifically to hearing from everyone! This is expected to be a highly interactive course!

Sexual health is important to patients, but may be neglected by clinicians due to lack of training, fluency or comfort. In society and as individuals we recognize sex's role in pleasure, relationships and identity. As clinicians, however, we direct our attention primarily to the negative consequences of sex: preventing or addressing conception, disease and violence. We may also forget that some aspects of sexuality have nothing to do with sex.

This conference seeks to expand the clinical conversation about sexual health, which is relevant to all clinicians - whether we work in primary care, specialty or focused practice. If and how we have those conversations has profound impacts for our patients.

The mission of the Whistler Anesthesiology Summit is to deliver the highest standard in educational updates, covering all aspects of anesthesia care. Using various educational formats, we encourage participant interaction with the national and international leaders in anesthesia in order to promote excellence in anesthesia care, all in one of the most beautiful settings in the world.
